What's COMING in 2021?!

Think we can all agree, that 2020 has been a really, really strange year. It’s been a tough one for most (both mentally, emotionally and financially) and despite a vaccine currently being distributed. For the majority of us, it’ll still be a while before things get back to some ‘normality’ and that’s if the world returns to what it ever once was…

However, there’s also been plenty of advancement, development and pivots in various industries. So, here’s some great projects that we’re looking forward to seeing in 2021.

THE MCU

We’ve got to admit, we’re BIG fans of the MCU, ever since Robert Downey Jr. took the reigns as Iron Man back in 2008. However, 2020 has gone down as the first, since it’s inception, that the MCU has not released a film – shocking! But, we can understand their decision to delay releases, with the film industry – largely in chaos, along with multiple cinema chains on the brink of collapse.

However, in one form or another. The MCU will be returning! After, dropping 4 new trailers and announcing multiple projects – Phase 4 is looking to be BIG and EXCITING, both for films and television series, which will now look to play a larger part in the overall story line in this next chapter. Another, great pro for Disney and Disney Plus.

Here’s what Marvel films and television series are coming in 2021, to line up the next phase of the MCU.

  1. WandaVision – Jan 15th 2021 (tv series)
  2. The Falcon & The Winter Soldier – Mar 19th 2021 (tv series)
  3. Black Widow – May 7th 2021 (film)
  4. Ms Marvel – Late 2021 (tv series)
  5. Loki – May 2021 (tv series)
  6. Shang-Chi – July 9th 2021 (film)
  7. What If? – Summer 2021 (animated tv series)
  8. Hawkeye – Late 2021 (tv series)
  9. Eternals – Nov 5th 2021 (film)
  10. Spiderman 3 – Dec 17th 2021 (film)

We can’t wait!

2021 Olympics

2020 saw the collapse of live events across the world including, the 2020 Olympics. Japan is still hoping they’ll be able to go ahead in 2020. With overall costs (including delays) now reaching $12.6 billion according to the Associated Press. To put this into context, Japan had originally budgeted $7.3 billion (estimate provided from AP).  With delayed costs now mounting, Japan and Tokyo will be hoping to provide the world with some much loved (and long needed) live sports over this coming Summer.

5G

2020 was geared up to be the year when 5G would become mainstream. However, along came COVID and a host of other political interferences, not to mention the rather under-whelming initial speeds and limited devices (and all the conspiracy theories). 2020 was not a great year for 5G PR wise.

But, with 2021 just around the corner and with major technology companies such as Apple & Samsung releasing their range of 5G phones (we’ll be on iPhone 13 rather soon…). We could finally see 5G picking up some much needed momentum. Speeds will off-course get faster, phone coverage will get better and phones *should* get cheaper. 2021 could really be the year where consumers start buying into 5G and start seeing the vast benefits (not just speed wise). In the long run, start thinking driverless cars, blockchain, VR and even telemedicine.

What else is coming?

  • Euro 2021some much loved international football is back.
  • Playstation 5technically 2020 but, at least next year, you’ll actually be able to get your hands on the console.
  • Xbox ‘X’ Series gets launched (let’s restart the playstation vs xbox wars)
  • Space Jam: A New Legacy hits cinemas!
  • AppleApple TV, iPhone 13 & Apple VR Headset to be released (TBC)
  • Samsung S21 to also be released.
